1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of BuyNowPaysLater's hire purchase services, website, and any related transactions. By placing an order or entering into a hire purchase agreement with us, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding.
2. Hire Purchase Agreement
A hire purchase agreement is a credit arrangement under which you (the customer) take possession of goods and pay for them through a series of scheduled installments. Title (legal ownership) of the goods remains with BuyNowPaysLater until all payments have been made in full.
- Once your order is approved, the goods are delivered to your specified address.
- The down payment is collected immediately upon delivery of the goods.
- Installments (weekly for phones, monthly for appliances) are due on the agreed schedule after delivery.
- Ownership of the product transfers to you only after all installments have been paid in full.
- BuyNowPaysLater reserves the right to repossess goods in the event of default on payments.
3. Payment Plans
We offer two categories of payment plans depending on the product type. All available plans for each product are displayed on the product page.
Appliances (TVs, Fridges, Washing Machines, Air Conditioners)
- Plans range from 3 to 6 months.
- A down payment is made on delivery; monthly installments follow.
- Total = Down Payment + (Monthly Installment × Number of Months).
Mobile Phones
- Plans of 13, 17, or 26 weeks are available.
- A down payment is made on delivery; weekly installments follow every 7 days.
- Total = Down Payment + (Weekly Installment × Number of Weeks).
- Payment plans are fixed and cannot be changed after the order is confirmed.
- Missing two or more consecutive payments without prior communication may result in repossession.
- Early full settlement is permitted — contact us to arrange early payoff.
4. Eligibility & Requirements
To enter into a hire purchase agreement with us, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be a resident of Ghana.
- Provide a valid Ghana Card (National ID) or other acceptable government-issued photo ID.
- Proof of income: You must demonstrate a verifiable source of income — such as a payslip, business records, or bank statement — sufficient to cover the agreed installment payments.
- Guarantor: You must provide at least one guarantor who is reachable by phone and can vouch for your ability to repay. For appliance purchases, a guarantor who can verify your place of residence may also be required.
- Provide a valid phone number that will be used for payment reminders and communication throughout the agreement.
5. Order Approval & Delivery Process
Our order approval and delivery process works as follows:
- After placing an order, we review and verify your information.
- Once approved, we schedule delivery of your items.
- Upon delivery, you are required to make the down payment instantly.
- Accepted payment methods for down payment: Cash on delivery, Mobile Money, or Card.
- After down payment is confirmed, you take possession of the goods.
- Subsequent monthly payments can be made via Mobile Money, Bank Transfer, or other available channels.
6. Delivery Policy
We deliver nationwide. Delivery terms are as follows:
- Free Delivery: Available for all orders within Accra (Greater Accra Region).
- Delivery Outside Accra: Applicable delivery fees will be calculated based on your location and communicated before delivery.
- Delivery timelines are estimates and may vary depending on your location.
- Risk of loss or damage passes to you upon delivery, but ownership remains with BuyNowPaysLater until full payment is received.
7. Returns & Defective Goods
If goods are delivered in a defective or damaged condition, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery. We will arrange for inspection and, where appropriate, replacement or repair.
We do not accept returns for change of mind after a hire purchase agreement has been entered into. Returns for manufacturing defects are handled in line with the manufacturer's warranty.
8. Default & Repossession
If you miss two or more consecutive monthly payments without prior communication, BuyNowPaysLater reserves the right to repossess the goods. Any payments already made will be assessed against costs incurred. We will always attempt to contact you before initiating repossession.
9. Limitation of Liability
BuyNowPaysLater is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our products or services. Our total liability in any circumstance shall not exceed the amount paid by you under the relevant hire purchase agreement.
10. Product Warranty
All products offered through our platform are backed by their respective manufacturer’s warranties. BuyNowPaysLater acts solely as a payment facilitator and is not the manufacturer or authorized service provider for the products listed.
- Warranty Claims: Any issues related to product defects, performance, or repairs must be directed to the manufacturer or the authorized service center as specified in the product documentation provided at the time of purchase.
- Support: While we are not responsible for product repairs, we are committed to your satisfaction. If you encounter difficulties contacting a manufacturer regarding a warranty claim, please reach out to our customer support team, and we will assist you in locating the appropriate service contacts.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
